SHE

she scratched violently
during the sly vengeful attack
of enemies global
her angry screams
kings silenced in swiftness.

no noble moments of recollect
she'd deflect back from agonies provoked
upon families grieving to bear
in brotherly love nations shared;
witnessed.

her lies shockingly conceived
she boldly deceived
darkening minds against realities
deemed too archaic to believe

dense shadowy forest she contrived
glorious moonlight driven from mournful eyes
as she torched bodies spitefully chained:
sacred book despised

stenches?

burning flesh
not invoking desires of forgiveness,
accountabilities to confess
since innocents induced to duress

her lusts agitated
equally
turbulent salty sea--

"WILL NOT TOIL FOR NOTHING"

"How long, O Jehovah, must I cry for help, but you do not hear?

How long must I ask for help from violence, but you do not intervene?

Why do you make me witness wrongdoing?
And why do you tolerate oppression?
Why are destruction and violence before me?
And why do quarreling and conflict abound?}

So law is paralyzed,
And justice is never carried out.
For the wicked surround the righteous;
That is why justice is perverted."

Today's journalist
said?

No. A prophet of a destruction long ago
instead.

'A pronouncement that Ha·bakʹkuk
the prophet received in a vision"

whether or not
inside his head

though, his heart bled for the judgement necessary
against God's people.

"“For I am Jehovah; I do not change."
is what we must keep in mind.

"And we have come to know
and believe

the love that God has for us.

God is love."

Through nature alone we have experienced
He's divine.

Absolutely reliable God’s promises are.

As certain as how all don't float off to the sky
yes, books, couches, anything material just doesn't fly
yet, will drop to the earth in equal time.

On these facts daily
we scientifically rely.

So when prophesied:
God will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”
Trust in the value of those tasty words.

"God is not a mere man who tells lies,
Nor a son of man who changes his mind.

When he says something, will he not do it?
When he speaks, will he not carry it out?"

Maybe we've read the following ancient heard:

"Remember the former things of long ago,
That I am God, and there is no other.
I am God, and there is no one like me.

From the beginning I foretell the outcome,
And from long ago
the things that have not yet been done.

I say, ‘My decision will stand,
And I will do whatever I please.’"

Being the 'Almighty'
He'll fulfill these with ease:

"For look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth;
And the former things will not be called to mind,
Nor will they come up into the heart."

"They will build houses and live in them,

And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.

They will not build for someone else to inhabit,
Nor will they plant for others to eat.

For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree,

And the work of their hands
my chosen ones

will enjoy to the full.

They will not toil

for nothing,

Nor will they bear children for distress,
Because they are the offspring

made up of those blessed
by Jehovah,

And their descendants with them.

Even before they call out, I will answer;
While they are yet speaking, I will hear.

The wolf and the lamb will feed together,
The lion will eat straw just like the bull,

And the serpent’s food will be dust.

They will do no harm
nor cause any ruin
in all my holy mountain,”

says Jehovah."

Hope In ...

Hope In . . .

dew

Hi!

First off, if you tried to link Thelma & Louise and found the article non-existent, I am so sorry! I’m new to this site and probably erased it. I also fought with its formatting, but it pinned me this morning. So I’ll limp on a bit wounded in ego :-)

I know I said we’d proceed with the next myth, but may we stay a bit longer with the first myth: Death is the natural end of life? . . . Since daily we do face death, be it naturally, as in ‘old age’ or tragically, as experienced through wars, terrorism or road rage.

camouflage

No, it wasn’t coded in the original purpose, but still not to be called a ‘glitch’ since it was an initiated ‘virus’. So, we fight for control of our personal computers with their hard drives of hearts and minds to safeguard their futures.

However, be assure that behind the scenes, horrible, debilitating ‘viruses’ cast as famine, pestilence, and war causing mankind’s death will soon be eliminated forever. Some may hear current news and become fearful of an impeding apocalypse.

Please, fear not!

Our Creator has promised, by means of his Son to: “bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18)

Immediately after Adam and Eve rebelled, God began to reveal his purpose for an arrangement to install a Kingdom “that will never be brought to ruin.” (Daniel 2:44) That Kingdom, you’ve probably been taught to pray, is commonly called the Lord’s Prayer.— Matthew 6:9, 10. It can erase our fear, because it will bring untold blessings to mankind:

God will “wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4; Psalm 37:9-11, 29; Matthew 5:5; Isaiah 45:22)

What human could ever accomplish those things?

Only Our Creator can bring us to the condition he originally purposed for mankind.

Yet, this future will not be for the majority of mankind. Today’s ‘viruses’ many unfortunately want to continue.  Many feel powerful and don’t want to relinquish their lives to a ‘righteous’ being. While others are intimidated into a stagnant state of being.

But, don’t let that be your choice. The Creator promises:

“This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” John 17:3

Is it not wise to side ourselves on the side of the Almighty and Mighty? . . . And should we not do this now? . . . For notice this advice given by a wise King long ago:

“Come, now, you who say: “Today or tomorrow we will travel to this city and will spend a year there, and we will do business and make some profit,” whereas you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears.”—James 4:13, 14.

God calls out lovingly and patiently: “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth, For I am God, and there is no one else.” (Isaiah 45:22)

He exhorts us:

“Hope in Jehovah and follow his way, and he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked are done away with, you will see it.” Psalm 37:34

Does God Need To Take People in Death to Be With Him?

angels

Hi Everyone.

Today we'll consider Myth 2: God takes people in death to be with him.

To begin, one thing we must know about our Creator is that "God is a God not of disorder".  1 Cor. 14:33.

We mention this because, Jehovah created angels first. His very first act of creation was his angelic son whom we know as Jesus Christ, also called “the firstborn of all creation.” Then God created the angels and everything else through Jesus. "He is before all other things, and by means of him all other things were made to exist". Colossians 1:13-17.

And when we read about them don't we recognize them as beings with greater power and ability than humans? 2 Peter 2:11.

And can we not visualize them existing in heaven, or the spirit realm--a level of existence higher than the physical universe? 1 Kings 8:27; John 6:38.

And yes, . . . they are also referred to as spirits.—1 Kings 22:21; Psalm 18:10.

However, angels do not marry and reproduce. Mark 12:25. Instead, each of these “sons of the true God” was individually created.—Job 1:6.

This may make you wonder: How many angels are there?

glorious angels

Well, the fact is that the Bible does not give an exact figure. But it does show that their number is vast. For example, the apostle John, in vision, glimpsed hundreds of millions of angels.—Revelation 5:11, footnote.

So this raises the question: Do angels have individual names and personalities?

Yes!

Although, the Bible only gives names of two angels: Michael and Gabriel. (Daniel 12:1; Luke 1:26) *

But the other angels did acknowledge that they also had names. They just wouldn't reveal them.—Genesis 32:29; Judges 13:17, 18.

But, interesting too is that, although individually created, they each have distinct personalities. And they communicate with one another. 1 Corinthians 13:1. And with their thinking ability they can compose glorious expressions of praise to the Almighty. Luke 2:13, 14.

Plus, like us, they were created with the freedom to choose between right and wrong. This is seen when some of them sinned by joining Satan the Devil in his rebellion against God. Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4.

So there must be different ranks among angels, right?

Yes.

The angel greatest in both power and authority is Michael, the archangel. Jude 9; Revelation 12:7.

Jesus reigns

Seraphs are high-ranking angels who are stationed near Jehovah’s throne. (Isaiah 6:2, 6) Cherubs form another high-ranking order of angels having special duties. For example, cherubs guarded the entrance to the garden of Eden after Adam and Eve were expelled.—Genesis 3:23, 24.

Which highlights another point: Angels were created before the earth existed. . . When God created the earth, they “began shouting in applause”! Job 38:4-7.

So this brings us to our connector:

Remember, initially we spoke of Jehovah God being a God of order. And we discussed how he gave the earth to the 'sons of man' in Here to Stay.

Taking what we just discussed into consideration, is it reasonable to conclude that God would need us to die, be it naturally or violently, to be with him?

May we pick up with this point tomorrow?

Here to Stay

Here to Stay

ourhome

So, here we are again! . . . How about a quick recap: Death was not part of God’s original purpose.

Said about the Creator of the Universe: “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.” Revelation 4:11.

Yes, “With you (Jah, Jehovah) is the source of life; by your light we can see light.” Psalm 36:9.

This was stated of him . . . but, if it were you wouldn’t you claim the creatorship of all this awesomeness? . . . We claim credit for the most insignificant of things.

And, although He doesn’t inscribe every glorious dawn or breathtaking sunset with a big “J” for Jehovah or “A” for Almighty He does state in his word:

“‘“This is what Jehovah of armies, . . . says; . . . ‘It is I who made the earth, mankind, and the beasts that are on the surface of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I have given it to whomever I please.“ Jeremiah 27:4, 5.

And who did it please him to give the earth and all life on it?

Jah has entrusted man with the care of the earth: “As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.” Psalm 115:16. Beginning with Adam.

Now can you imagine a loving father giving a beautiful gift to his child and then turning around and destroying it? . . . He may take it from a disobedient child, but not destroy it. So, if imperfect humans would not do this, don’t imagine that Jehovah would do any such thing to the earth and its inhabitants, for “God is love.”—1 John 4:8.

And His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ even gave this assurance regarding his Father’s sayings: “Your word is truth.” John 17:17.

And God, who cannot lie, promises: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:29; Titus 1:2.

Therefore, death was not the natural end of life and does not have to be the finality of our existence.

The choice is also put upon us: “I take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants“. Deuteronomy 30:19.

How do we choose?

“This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” John 17:3.

One way to know the Father and Son is through creation: “For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.” Romans 1:20.

Yet, “This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel, “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit yourself, the One guiding you in the way you should walk. If only you would pay attention to my commandments!

Then your peace would become just like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your offspring would be as many as the sand and your descendants as its grains.

Their name would never be cut off or annihilated from before me.”” Isaiah 48:17-19.

Sound good to you?

Collateral Beauty

Collateral Beauty

collateral beauty

Saw ‘Collateral Beauty’ yesterday on DVD. Unfortunately, before I did I read the critic’s reviews, which may have prejudiced me. And I was a bit tired while watching it so I probably missed some key parts.

Whatever the reason, I ended sad for all involved in this movie’s making, because I felt their goal was to make some sense of death. Come to grips with death–which I can totally understand.

However, they didn’t grasp the ring of ‘truth’. . . Though, I admire their ambition; especially since there are many myths spiraling around the world about death. The movie left ended with the stars feeling lost and subdued. And if your writers have no concrete answers . . .

We’ll just leave that and focus on the a few myths and why we can call them such.

Myth 1: Death is the natural end of life.
Myth 2: God takes people in death to be with him.
Myth 3: God takes little children to become angels.
Myth 4: Some people are tormented after death.
Myth 5: Death means the permanent end of our existence.

cowboy

Are these myths biblically backed? . . .Notice how the scriptures that follow each bullet point answers the question.

●Death is the natural end of life . . .Genesis 1:28; 2:17; Romans 5:12
● God takes people in death to be with him . . . Job 34:15; Psalm 37:11, 29; 115:16
● God takes little children to become angels . . . Psalm 51:5; 104:1, 4; Hebrews 1:7, 14
● Some people are tormented after death . . . Psalm 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10; Romans 6:23
● Death means the permanent end of our existence . . . Job 14:14, 15; John 3:16; 17:3; Acts 24:15

Also, notice how the first bullet point discusses our reason for being here. This question was posed in the Post: Thelma and Louise https://ithsb.wordpress.com/2017/04/16/thelma-and-louise-2/.

Let’s consider the first point. . . Myth 1: Death is the natural end of life.

burnt rose

Genesis 1:28 highlights the Creator’s purpose:  “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

Why are we here according to verse 28? . . . Because the Creator created humans to: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it”.

Genesis 2:17 goes on . . ."But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die."

When would death occur? . . . If Adam disobeyed His mandate the Creator promised: “You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Romans 5:12: “That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned—.”

So why do we die? . . . “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin”. “So death spread to all men because they had all sinned—.”

So, based upon just these few scriptures, Was death supposed to be the natural end of life for humans? . . .In view of man’s general reaction to death, his amazing potential for remembering and learning, and his inward longing for eternity, is it not clear that he was made to live?

Indeed, God created humans, not with death as the natural outcome, but with the prospect of living on indefinitely.

Tomorrow we will discuss: Myth 2: God takes people in death to be with him.
