Here to Stay
So, here we are again! . . . How about a quick recap: Death was not part of God’s original purpose.
Said about the Creator of the Universe: “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.” Revelation 4:11.
Yes, “With you (Jah, Jehovah) is the source of life; by your light we can see light.” Psalm 36:9.
This was stated of him . . . but, if it were you wouldn’t you claim the creatorship of all this awesomeness? . . . We claim credit for the most insignificant of things.
And, although He doesn’t inscribe every glorious dawn or breathtaking sunset with a big “J” for Jehovah or “A” for Almighty He does state in his word:
“‘“This is what Jehovah of armies, . . . says; . . . ‘It is I who made the earth, mankind, and the beasts that are on the surface of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm; and I have given it to whomever I please.“ Jeremiah 27:4, 5.
And who did it please him to give the earth and all life on it?
Jah has entrusted man with the care of the earth: “As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, but the earth he has given to the sons of men.” Psalm 115:16. Beginning with Adam.
Now can you imagine a loving father giving a beautiful gift to his child and then turning around and destroying it? . . . He may take it from a disobedient child, but not destroy it. So, if imperfect humans would not do this, don’t imagine that Jehovah would do any such thing to the earth and its inhabitants, for “God is love.”—1 John 4:8.
And His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ even gave this assurance regarding his Father’s sayings: “Your word is truth.” John 17:17.
And God, who cannot lie, promises: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:29; Titus 1:2.
Therefore, death was not the natural end of life and does not have to be the finality of our existence.
The choice is also put upon us: “I take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants“. Deuteronomy 30:19.
How do we choose?
“This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” John 17:3.
One way to know the Father and Son is through creation: “For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.” Romans 1:20.
Yet, “This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel, “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit yourself, the One guiding you in the way you should walk. If only you would pay attention to my commandments!
Then your peace would become just like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your offspring would be as many as the sand and your descendants as its grains.
Their name would never be cut off or annihilated from before me.”” Isaiah 48:17-19.
Sound good to you?
