Love Your Neighbor, But Not This Way

Love Your Neighbor, But Not This Way (1st draft)

In these critical last days
where "having no natural affection,"
means man's depraved enough
to construct an iron cage
large yet small enough to enslave
a fellow being

underneath their home
a crawl space, or a shed behind

left in darkness alone and afraid
to cope with snakes, rats, a bondage staged
for they themselves are mentally enraged
against humanity.

Their camouflaged insanity
won't permit them the death card
to speed their hostage in plead

is too much of a kindness
their humanity? to intercede.

They'd rather engage in horrific deeds
sexual and obscene to entertain
or display power atrociously satanically mean

to babies, women, older people too
not strong enough for themselves
justice to pursue

since "sentence against a bad deed has not been executed speedily, the heart of men becomes emboldened to do bad." Eccl. 8:11.

How sad when these are your neighbors
who you thought loved or at least respected you.

Day-in and day-out in pretend
waiting for the moment you're helpless to defend yourself
against their families, friends, and workers too

not sympathetic enough to lend you a hand
for ostracized or victim they feel is their end.

Ready to open up quick attics, their plain white vans to whisk away a victim bound mouth and hand

then to circle back around to the original
community until the coast is clear for them to again land on property protected by cameras

disrespecting daily a woman,
or even a man because they feel: "I can!"

Know that a reversal is soon to spin victims into victorious
and wicked ones into chaff on the wind

for promised:

"They will no longer become something for the nations to prey upon,... and they will dwell in security, with no one to make them afraid." Ezekiel 34:28.

But until that wondrous day
may we slay the notion that all mankind is unfeeling and 'tremble at men'.

Look out for one another in 'brotherly love'.

If you miss seeing someone usually seen each day
search them out and for them pray
for who is to know who they ran up against
that disastrous day.

Maybe one call will save them in time
from being a monsters' company's prey.

Sadly, imagination's not needed
this important message to convey.
