Silent, I Can't Remain (Contest Jer. 2:4 - Fsml)
"Silent, I can't remain"; although these words you do disdain.
"Hear the word of Jehovah, O house of Jacob, And all you families of the house of Israel." Jer. 2:4. Jah's holy standards you must maintain. Ringing. Rung. Rang. In the streets and squares of Jerusalem starting in 647 B.C.E. these words proclaimed. God’s prophet did not let up; Jeremiah repeated that exhortation. Even after the city's destruction 40 years later. Lives unfortunately claimed.
Sent by Almighty God prophets, ensuring Jews could hear His counsel then repent. Jeremiah most outstanding among divine spokesmen. In his commission, never to relent.
“You must rise up and speak to them everything that I myself command you. Do not be struck with any terror.” Jer. 1:17.)
His work demanding. To be accomplished without error.
Jeremiah suffered physical plus emotional pain, but despite these trials, he was impelled to fulfill his assignment in Godly devotion and without blame.
“My heart is boisterous within me. I cannot keep silent.” Jer. 4:19. He said. “We cannot stop speaking about the things we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:19, 20. By these past faithful examples may we fervently be led.
