Silent, I Can't Remain

Silent, I Can't Remain (Contest Jer. 2:4 - Fsml)

"Silent, I can't remain"; although these words you do disdain.

"Hear the word of Jehovah, O house of Jacob, And all you families of the house of Israel." Jer. 2:4. Jah's holy standards you must maintain. Ringing. Rung. Rang. In the streets and squares of Jerusalem starting in 647 B.C.E. these words proclaimed. God’s prophet did not let up; Jeremiah repeated that exhortation. Even after the city's destruction 40 years later. Lives unfortunately claimed.

Sent by Almighty God prophets, ensuring Jews could hear His counsel then repent. Jeremiah most outstanding among divine spokesmen. In his commission, never to relent.

“You must rise up and speak to them everything that I myself command you. Do not be struck with any terror.” Jer. 1:17.)
His work demanding. To be accomplished without error.

Jeremiah suffered physical plus emotional pain, but despite these trials, he was impelled to fulfill his assignment in Godly devotion and without blame.

“My heart is boisterous within me. I cannot keep silent.” Jer. 4:19. He said. “We cannot stop speaking about the things we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:19, 20. By these past faithful examples may we fervently be led.

The Party

Everyone desiring to glisten as human stars
to soar across vast skies

hasty to explore or content to gaze

was invited... It would start at dawn. Then roll on and on...
into thrilling darkness. All night long with dance, with song.
Fabulous exotic food plus sweet or bitter drink experimentally combined

flowing
potent

for all who in popularity wanted or needed to belong.

By word-of-mouth proclaimed: "Be there or be square" once popular this phrase became... And who hoped to be square?... Cool, enlightened... parents want for their progeny.

So, anyone who was anyone would definitely arrive

be there to be a part of international games played by those supposedly sane by papered degrees contrived;

in the midst or on the fringe
watching in fascination others binge drink
to a point of indecency

staring in utter awe at all these exhilarating festivities
even though not necessarily... participating... Observing
as the evening proceeded.

Actions sinking lower into further depravity
in escalating speed.

Whispers circulated about a raid.

But who really did believe?... So not many heeded

for hearts and minds gorged on sensations titillating organs to moist or enlargement since aroused by sensual visions and/or screams

whether from willing participants or victims who stumbled into private corners

(their mental faculties
by substances foreign
sadly impeded)

or who were dragged there by one or many demons
violent in variant extremes
to carry out their fantasies
from many shades of gray to the darkest in 'mean'
with babies, adults or tender naive or curious 'teens'.

Yet, when the party first began
did invitees believe things would really get this out of hand?

In parts of the house it slowly started to unravel
as attention was held
by those who antics caused many to marvel... With talents strong
voices sang, bodies gyrated, sweat sprang into cramped spaces

while a haziness consuming a hot, increasingly heated
confining place eventually did prevail

failing

decency to contain;

from variant rooms
secreted

a pungent smell did assail some noses
causing them to exit rapidly
from conduct once deemed just 'inane',

as spilled out into open areas
for all to visually see... all types of immorality performed
enthusiastically

while eyes rolled
breathing began labored
bodies dropped in ecstasy.

Then suddenly lights flashed brightly into our surprised eyes
and many hollered in rage or whimpered
as police removed all those who were of vices comprised

despising righteous laws... loving badness.

I failed to realize.

Woefully I began to cry.

For I willingly did share in entertaining immoral thoughts, vile actions, dishonoring ideas

with my Father's enemies... in His home

and I, His child
thoughtlessly, did not bother... to care.

chose to unwisely associate with those who hated my Father. Who lied about Him. Who ruined His home... once a Paradise.
